Run the Line is your unique opportunity to run a single race that not only takes place in two states but that actually includes a portion where you run right down the state line. The course map is on our website at Course Map along with the elevation map at RTL Elevation Map.

Distance: 13.1 Miles  Water Stops: 7  Hills: One large hill (Arkansas Boulevard) and many short inclines in the second half of the race. Single loop course.  After an exciting shotgun start in downtown Texarkana, Texas, runners pour across the state line into Arkansas and down a long, one mile gradual stretch downhill. The course then turns north onto the beautiful Nix Creek Trail, one of several trail projects this race raises money to create and maintain. After 2.5 miles on the trail the course winds through pretty Texarkana, Arkansas neighborhoods before heading up the biggest and longest hill on the course and across the state line back into Texarkana, Texas. After reaching the halfway point (and the handoff for 2-person relay team participants), the course heads toward Spring Lake Park where funds from this race helped create: the Phillip McDougal Trail. Then the course winds up and down several small hills through neighborhoods south of the park before heading toward downtown. Runners will then experience some of the older Texarkana neighborhoods and stately homes as the race heads for home. Less than a mile from the finish the course finally hits State Line Avenue and runners will have a chance to run right down the state line between Texas and Arkansas. After rounding the courthouse, the course veers back into Arkansas and the finish line festivities at 3rd & Wood Streets!
